Testimonials

What people we have trained are saying about us.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing John Hambleton for over six years. During this time, he has provided many First Aid training courses (mostly Level 3) for Sanbona staff (reserve field staff through to senior management), the last 3 of which have been taught this year.

John has always provided the highest level of service and standard. His courses provide excellent value for money. He is punctual, well presented and his course content is always up to date and follows the latest findings and teachings. His medical knowledge comes not only from books but from first-hand experience. This comes shining through in his courses as he can relate what he is teaching to real life experiences. He imparts his knowledge in a clear and understandable manner and gets his delegates to partake in lots of hands on scenarios as well as class room work. This keeps his courses lively and everybody interested.

I would not hesitate to recommend John to anyone wishing to run a First Aid course for themselves or their company.”

“The Nature College has been using Frontline Emergency Care as its preferred provider for training of nature guides since 1998.

The reasons for this are as follows:
1. The training is practical and relevant;
2. The training is of a very high standard;
3. We get consistent good feedback from learners;
4. We observe that training is dynamic and adapting to new technology, e.g. treatment of snakebite;
5. Learners are taught to deal with emergencies in the field through scenario training;
6. Mr Hambleton understands the guiding industry and its needs.”

“Please accept my thanks for the way you and your company have delivered the First Aid and Fire Fighting training for Delaire Graff Estate the past three years. From the moment I engaged your company there has been a seamless professional delivery of your services and you have certainly lived up to our expectations.

All the delegates on the course have commented on the impressive way you delivered the training and the background in the safety field matched you ideally to our requirements and profile.

With the above in mind, we will seek to engage you in any further training requirements we have and will not hesitate to recommend you to any interested clients or contractors.”

“Thanks again! Great course! A short YouTube video is attached below.

Level 3 first aid is no laughing matter – it’s serious, lifesaving stuff. But there were plenty of laughs, along with shock-horror panic reactions, when John Hambleton of Frontline Emergency Care took our river guides through a 5-day intensive outdoor accidents course. John, a top Cape Town First Aid trainer and Health Educator, also has a history in amateur dramatics and, having been on the stage, he knows how to make up “casualties” to look frighteningly realistic.

He flew to Gauteng to give us this course, and the trip was well worth it for all concerned. On one occasion we were presented with scene out of Hollywood disaster movies – a patient with an amputated limb. Was the limb ripped off by a hippo? or blown off by a terrorist bomb? Who knows, but after the initial confusion we treated the bleeding stump and got the patient (laughing) off to hospital. The group of 11 guides included 6 going for Trip Leader status under Adventure Standards Africa (ASA).
What a bloody fantastic week that was, but it was much needed training and we hope to work with John again in the future.”

John Hambleton, and Frontline Emergency care, has been providing first aid training for river guides for the past 10 years. In this time, John has designed a level 3 course specifically for river guides. This course takes into account the restrictions, and additional risks, that are part of the river and wilderness environment.

Specifically designed to take place on a river, the feedback I have had from guides who have taken part in the course, has been particularly positive. They feel that being able to practice their first aid in the actual environment in which they will be working, to be far more valuable than learning these same skills in a classroom environment.

As former student coordinator for the Nature College and the current Ranger Manager of Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, I have had the privilege to work with Mr. John Hambleton of Frontline Emergency Care since 2003. Over the last ten years I have done various First Aid courses with him including a level 3 course which was recently presented at Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.

When attending any of his courses it is evident that his many years of experience in the field had made him an expert training provider. Not only does he provide sufficient study material, but he also focuses a lot on the relevant practical work. From my personal experience the fact that he designs his courses around the specific needs of his clients separate him from other training providers I have worked with.

When it comes to our industry where the safety of our guests is our priority, the type of training provided by Mr. Hambleton is hands-on. Besides the theoretical studies, he creates scenarios at our lodges, in vehicles and even out in the bush where students get the opportunity to experience realistic challenges that could occur when dealing with emergencies out in the wild.

Combining his excellent leadership skills with very informative lectures he truly is one of the best trainers I have had the fortune to work with. I can highly recommend his services to any individual or company who requires the highest quality of first aid training.
